What a breath of fresh air….. It was a fantastic experience and one that caught me totally off guard……
I rang the bank yesterday. Had to get some answers for some fee’s and what we could do about them.
Had a really good call, it was clear, the guy at the other end of the phone was super easy to understand and he could understand me, I did not have to slow down or repeat anything.
I did not have to jump through any hoops, the guy that answered the phone after 3 rings helped me all the way through.
There was no ‘please listen carefully as our menu options have changed’, no pressing numbers, no routing of calls, no getting put on hold.
I got all the answers and total banking satisfaction in about 7 minutes.
It was like a breath of fresh air. I could hardly contain myself. I have never had such a smooth phone call with any institution in the past year.
I can hear half my readers now, they are crying out, asking “Which bank did you call that gave such good service?”, while the other half of my readers are shrugging their shoulders and saying “Sounds like a normal call to the bank, whats the big deal?”
The answer is, of course, I called my local Ballarat branch of Westpac.
I had totally forgot what its like to not have a language barrier during a business call…. I did not expect that.
