Overwhelmed

Better to be looking at it than for it.

Overwhelmed

Just really struggling to keep it all together this past week.
Getting medical insurance has soaked up hours and hours, and we have nothing to show for it thus far.
The DMV does not work like the CA DMV, and so we still need to obtain our Idaho car plates. (Not even started the whole driver's license thing).
Changing our address and phone number still. Some are pretty smooth, but some banks are just broke. You have to have access to your old phone so they can send a verification code to it before you can enter the new phone number. Most have it right in that you send the code to the new number and move on to the physical address which is more problematic.
The Internet is still a messy mystery. I'm happy with the data rate etc, but can't seem to get a bill out of them yet.
The gas bill was 23 bucks. 20 delivery and 3 usage. The power bill was 60 bucks. It's 0.07 for the first 600kWh, no idea what it is after that... challenge accepted?
Had my first customer call and said no to the work... Actually referred them to another Opto-focused LLC.
Struggling to get quotes for the roof repair and the basement window repair/upgrade.

In other news...

We don't need conduit where we are going

Funds are getting tighter by the minute, so I nixed the conduit. Hope I don't get weird Ethernet interference in the C-Band coax, having them all mushed up like this.

I'll paint the white bit black at some point.

Yes, it's a repurposed (upcycled is the new fancy word I'm told) shower rail handle with one end hacksawed off.
No photos of the mess in the shop yet. Still getting dark cables run into there for now.

Its more than a little depressing working in the shop as I just cant find the tools and parts I know I have and need, so having to make do with all sorts of janky setups to try and inch some progress forward.
For the most part, the work in the shop is all about moving the Internet router and stuff out of the dining room in the house and into the shop.

One less thing in the way

The pool table is finally gone from the basement. But the removal team managed to drag it up the stairs and took a nice chunk out of pretty much every stair kick strip on the way out.
At this point, just glad it's gone, so overlooking the damage.

Heavy gate needs a wheel

The gate is bigger and heaver than the post its attached to and so it has sunk quite a bit.
Thought about taking the gate off its hinges, digging out the fence post, enlarging the hole, recementing the post back in, and re-hanging the gate on bigger hinges.... Or 30 min with an angle grinder, welder, and son-in-law to put a wheel on it. Fixed.
It's not a gate that's going to be used a ton. Just a few times a year. We are going to put Amy's RV here when it's not in use.
The smaller side gate will get some use, and we have to fix it as well, as it can't open very far, as there is a sprinkler head in the way.
Just seems like everything we look at needs some love... Which we knew, but it's all a bit overwhelming when you come to live in it.
