Assorted Stuff #1
Rapid-fire short-stuff blogs are the new normal.

I still intend to write single topic blogs as I can, but over the past few weeks its become clear to me that I'm better doing quick multi topic brain dumps than trying to isolate one and 'long form it'.
Why better? I just can't find the time to write long-form thoughts on any one topic lately.
In no specific order then, some of the stuff I'm currently juggling....
Work is always busy and a big slug of time in the sense that it often overflows the usual 5am to 3pm time slot. We are cooking up a new firmware release that has a new Linux kernel version. This means a ton of changes to stuff you can't really see, so doing lots of testing etc. One big thing it includes now is Docker. So I am diving deeper into docker than ever before. Still mixed thoughts about it. Still not sure I 'like' it, but I do get it a bit more and perhaps even a tiny bit more understand why some people are rabid about it.
Finally gave up on my satnogs stations. Moved the hardware over to my two tinyGS setups. Did a brain dump about the move here:

A guy's been bugging me for years to build him 3 of my L-band (1.5ish Ghz) satellite antennas, so since I have nothing better to do right now.....
Taking photos along the way so I can both blog about over on my k6 blog and add more to my L-Band GitHub page about the process.
As per the header photo, got some stuff going on at home that I will blog about in due course - when it becomes clearer just what is going on.
AI / LLM stuff is moving so fast.... I have a lot to say about it, and it needs a deeper dive as soon as I can, but yeah, it is moving at a breakneck speed that I have not seen tech move at for a while.
Woke up this morning to a new one... Someone has made an AI news service and a Tweet I got tagged in has been added to the AI verification process. All very weird.
Click on the 'How it works' to get a hint at the madness they are invested in.

I found their conclusion about the flight logs interesting as I had just blogged about how an LLM would need a years worth of ACARS logs to be meaningful.
Got a nice shout-out by crowdsupply for my mini reivew on the new discovery dish by krakenrf. https://www.crowdsupply.com/krakenrf/discovery-dish/updates/community-projects
Still trying to get WeatherDisplay data flowing to this website. Not giving up.
Mostly got the EdgeRouterMAX DNS stuff straight in my head. See the update edits.
My main Windows PC at home has been randomly rebooting and soaking up a TON of time troubleshooting and RAM testing and swapping power suppies and and and, etc all to no avail.
Cracked the darks with it this week and blew away everything and reloaded from scratch.
Windows 11 is an ugly mess to install. So many hoops and extra Microsoft programs to download and run to just install core stuff these days.
I've lost my 4th monitor somehow, it just won't show up in the correct resolution, so at the end of hours and hours of work I am not sure if it's solved the reboot issue and I'm worse off in that only 3 of my 4 monitors are working.
A bit dejected about that whole thing.... I just need a PC that works!
