Assorted Stuff #6
So much stuff. So little value.
I'm trying to get back into the habit of going for a short walk at lunch.
The work is pretty mentally intense, and I am finding that I am sitting pretty stiffly at a desk for the whole 9 hours straight.
I am trying to convince myself that I am over the new-job crunch and need to take a mental and physical breather in the middle of the day. (And switch off when I leave at the end of the day - That one is very much still a work in progress).

It's not working so far, but this little guy was pretty cute and made me smile the one time I walked to the lake and back.
They move so fast, and they really do seem to be weightless. It's just nuts how stinking cute they are.
Freddys Flower Garden
Freddy's main flower garden is start-of-spring amazing.

We try to sit outside at the table under the patio as much as the weather will allow for dinner during the week and any time we eat on the weekends.

If not, we are in the house looking through the window at the patio table and thus the flower garden.
She planned for the daffodils to come up first, then the tulips, and it's going to plan.

She also made sure to get a mix of types and colors, so it's pretty spectacular.

Wardriving with the Wiglefin
The Bolt was red, and Bluey is grey, so I am in the process of painting all my wardriving fins so they stick out less.
Yeah, I had a thin coat of grey on it before I thought to take a photo.....

I got a new old phone that I am testing, so I can easily run three fins... anything I can do to make THAT stick out less is welcome. (I know, I am not even kidding myself, but honestly, it does blend in a little better than three different color fins).
I'm back in the top 100 of the world on the Wigle.net leaderboard. Closing in on 2 million unique wifis logged.

The new v2 horizontal fins really do look better, but they are a pain in the phone fingers getting them in and out. Mostly out.

Cole and I quickly came up with this 'cassette' idea before a trip he took.
Not the best, but the idea is that you put the phone in the foam holder, then slide it into the fin. It sits nice and cozy for the duration of the drive....

After the wardrive, you can pop the bottom cover off, grab the two tape flaps, and pull the phone out.
I am open to any and all ideas to make it better or a totally different solution.
You know how to reach me.
3D Print and CAD wizard
Testing some new satellite aircraft decoding software.
It's going pretty well.
I gave Terry yet another bit of a prod on our chat channel, and he FINALLY (only took a year and a half) made a bracket for the handrail and got the antenna off the floor.
I asked him for a few photos, and he made this video - so cool having this skill set.
Play on mute, Just music sound track.
I really miss having easy access to it. Its surprising. You don't think you have that many little projects that need a 3D printed solution... Until you don't have access to the solution.
Did it make any difference?

What a difference it made. It's for the Iridium satellite constellation, just getting it off the floor really opened up the amount of sky. And I think just getting the antenna out those few inches also helps it see the sky better.
Speed Truck moves under its own power for the first time in 40 years
Cole got his speed truck (hot rod) running enough to go back and forth on the driveway.
Lee was away at the time, so here they are sharing the moment via the video I took for them.

Pretty neat seeing father and son so focused together.
Grumpa fixes stuff
Lee loves books that make sounds or are interactive. Amy and Freddy keep buying the broken ones from the op shops as they are cheaper, it seems they know a guy....
I've been busy figuring out how to open them up to repair them.

Also broken toys are cheaper it seems....
Usually its batteries. Often times its batteries and buttons. Other times its batteries and wires.

Most toys are not made with repairability in mind.
"Grumpa's toy repair shop"
Freddy said that should be the next small business I start.... Can't go any worse than the last one.
