Math major in the house.

Weird, I know, but having a math lover in the house for some reason makes me read any and all math posts that pop up in my RSS feed.

So stuff like this; http://blog.revolutionanalytics.com/2014/01/the-fourier-transform-explained-in-one-sentence.html gets a look. Just a look mind you.
Usually I just read the opening salvo, and then they throw up some math and I run away very quickly (after copying the URL).

Most times, not always, but more often than not, if its something that I find interesting (but scary), I email the link to Terry.

So why the interest in this one?

Im guessing you have already run away from that web site (and I don’t blame you if you did), but go back and have a look at his by-line….. quote “Learn more about using open source R for big data analysis, predictive modeling, data science and more….”

If you have been following me for any length of time, you know I am a huge open source fan and user… You also know that I am interested in ‘IoT’ (Internet of Things), a lot of sensors produce a lot of data. Data that will need to be analysed for predictive modeling to help us make wise decisions.
(More on this in a future post).

So, once again, my addiction to my RSS feed causes me to disappear down a rabbit hole for a time, as usual, the results are worthwhile.
The math was scary, but the source website was gold!
