  • 20th Anniversary.

    Yesterday, it was Freddys and I 20th wedding anniversary.
    Last year we went and looked at some humming birds and had a little dinner on the deck of the apartments. The birds were amazing, but the view from the deck of the car park and garbage dumpsters was less than inspiring.

    This year, we decided to up the view a little more, so we drove out to Indian Flats. Before the camp ground the road has some amazing views.
    We parked off the road and had a little time together;

    We got there just as the sun was going down

    We sat, talked and enjoyed the view.

    It was really cold, but the almost full moon was beautiful.

    We then climbed into the back of the Rover and looked at the stars and counted satellites for long time.

    The whole evening was just beautiful. It is so quite and peaceful out in the desert (and really cold!).
    Thanks Freddy for the past 20 years. Its been a wild ride at times. Nether of us could have guessed when we started out that we would have ended up in America! I know for a fact that I could not have made it through the past 20 years with out you.

  • Terry. Aug 2009

    Don’t ask, but we bought a fridge to put in the garage. It seemed to be running a lot, so, the obvious thing to do is put a temperature probe in the fridge and then connect it to opto so we could plot the temperature on the computer… as you do……

    Anyway, about 4 hours latter, I was on the computer when Freddy got a drink out of the fridge. I saw the temperature shoot up and said to Freddy “You just got a drink out of the fridge”….. She said “How did you know?” I said, “I know everything”.
    Terry was sitting next to me and heard the exchange.
    He looked at me like I was stupid and said…. “Opto knows things, you know Opto, A plus B equals C.”

    I think my boy is growing up.

  • Date Night photos.

    Date night Wednesday night.
    This time we went up to Deluz (again) to take some photos (again).
    We both like it up there a lot (clearly), the only problem is that I don’t have cell phone coverage, so the internet radio station we listen to (Vocal Trance Mix on Pandora.com) drops out….. Thankfully Amy reminded me of this before we left and I took my MP3 player off the bike so we had some tunes the whole date.
    Last trip out there we saw some gum trees (trivia fact for the day, they don’t call them gum tress out there, they are eucalyptus trees), and we said we would come back and take some photos.
    As it often happens, we did not go back to those exact trees, so we still have to go back and take some photos of Amy and those, but in the mean time, here is one that we did take;

    As usual there are more in Amy’s every growing album in my Picasa web photo album. Be sure and check it out.

    In other news. I have found that I can connect to my Linux PC from the Samsung DVD player and thus look at any home videos, photos and ripped Cd’s on the shared drive…. Its pretty crazy getting to all this media from the remote on your DVD player, but it works really well and makes a lot of sense.

  • Date night.

    For the past little while, Amy and I have been setting aside every Wednesday evening as our date night.
    We just hang out, walk, eat, drive, what ever the mood of the afternoon is……
    We have started taking some photos, something we both really enjoy, so I thought I would share some results with you all.

    Here is another;

    And the last one for today…….

    Clearly I need to improve my portrait skills, and that’s a little of the fun, we both talk about the photo we want, Amy gets to try different styles and I get to use the camera in a totally different way.
    We get to drive around the back blocks. We listen to music while driving and we talk a lot…. Its a lot of fun and very good for both of us.

    Soon, I hope to post the results of date night for Terry and I….. heh heh….. very different results for THAT one……
